Thank You

Thank You

What a fantastic year we have had learning about Computing!

It is with great sadness that I am leaving Bowling Park but I am moving onto new challenges.
Thank you to every single one of you for making Computing happen as well as it has done this year and I look forward to seeing what happens next year and beyond! Digital Leaders, support the work across school and make sure the blog is great. Keep going the extra mile.

Ps. I will be viewing the blog often so leave comments and I will do the same.

Gaming

Gaming

In Y1, we started to learn a new game called ‘Cat on your Head’. The idea of the game is to learn how games work and to think about adding elements to make it more challenging.

It was tricky in Y1 but we had a go!

We also, designed our own game.
It had to include:
* a good character
* a bad character
* something to collect
* the aim of the game (eg, save something, win a race).

Lego Mazes

Lego Mazes

Today, we continued to think about code and plotting routes.
These skills are helping us to think about games. We are learning to solve problems to get an object from A to B.
We built Lego mazes for a marble to fit through. We had to modify our work when we realised that the marble couldn’t get out of the maze! We then drew our mazes onto squared paper, applying our maths skills.
